Taurus season comes in like a bull on April 20th, staying in our celestial orbit until around May 20th. The second sign of the 12 astrological signs of the zodiac, Taurus is ruled by planet of love, Venus, its influence over Taurus makes this fixed earth sign the most sensual of the zodiac. Venus governs beauty, love and money – all important sources for Taureans. Known for loving all things cozy, pleasure-filled and luxurious. Taureans have a taste for the finer things in life, and knowing how to get down and have a good time is what these bulls excel at.

Katherinehepburn

Born May 12, 1907, Katharine Hepburn was an American actress of film, stage and television. Hepburn's career as a Hollywood leading lady spanned over 60 years.

However, it’s not all sitting on their laurels relaxing in the shade. Taurus’s modality (the modality tells us what a sign’s job is) is fixed earth. Fixed signs are specialized in maintaining systems and keeping things reliable and consistent. This quality displays itself in hardworking bulls who keep things grounded and consistent, extending this sense of reliability into all other areas of their lives.

These bulls are fond of all things sensually pleasing, appetizing, and luxurious. Taurus Suns are well adept at enjoying all that the physical realm has to offer. Through hard work, they are able to craft lives that allow them to bask in the fruits of their labors and all the pleasures that come with it.

Empress Zewditu The First Female Head Of State Of The Ethiopian 1280x720

Empress Zewditu of Ethiopia was born on April 29, 1876 as Askala Maryam in the city of Harrar in Enjersa Goro Province, Ethiopia.

Taurus is the anchor of the zodiac. Taureans are known for their steadfast, loyal nature that lend a much-needed sense of stability. Honest (sometimes to a fault), Taurus holds honesty in high esteem. They are honest by nature, and expect the same from those they trust.

Gracejones

Born May 19, 1948 in Spanish Town St. Catherine, Jamaica, Grace Jones is a Jamaican American model, singer and actress

These fixed earth signs are able to harness the power of the material world and manifest their goals. They are able to gather those in need, and receive major energetic downloads by being generous, relaxed and resourceful.

Taurus Suns have an uncanny ability to build upon existing resources and manifest goals to distil exuberant – yet unrefined – life energ. Without a doubt, the motto: “Work hard, play hard” can be applied to the bulls of the zodiac.

Symbolized by the bull horns – they have long been associated with the crescent moon – a symbol of the Goddess. The bull is related to the Greek myth of Zeus, who took on the form of a bull to kidnap Europa.

Bea Arthur 8

Born May 13, 1922, Beatrice Arthur was an American actress and comedian.

Taureans love stability and find comfort in consistency. Security is of the utmost importance for Taurus, and stabilizing their resources to develop into fertile ventures brings abundance. They are ambitious, focused and resilient and know the importance of building a nest egg. But, these lovers can turn to fighters quickly if their stability is in danger.

Sophie Scholl1

Sophia Scholl, born May 9, 1921, was a German student and anti-Nazi political activist, active within the White Rose non-violent resistance group in Nazi Germany. She was convicted of high treason after having been found distributing anti-war leaflets at the University of Munich with her brother, Hans.

However, never rush a bull. Taureans go at their own slow but steady pace and their hackles are raised if they feel pushed, forced or hurried at all. While Taurus sees their nose to the grindstone mentality as dedication, it can sometimes come off to others as stubbornness. Taurean stick-to-itness can sometimes lead them down the road to staying in unhealthy situations long past their due dates just to prove their point.

Calamityjane Feat

Martha Jane Cannary, born May 1, 1852, better known as Calamity Jane, was an American frontierswoman, sharpshooter and raconteur. She is said to have exhibited compassion to others, especially to the sick and needy. This facet of her character contrasted with her daredevil ways and helped to make her a noted frontier figure. She was also known for her habit of wearing men's attire.

Due to their love of comfort and security, sometimes they can become very set in their ways. Their answer to this is usually that they just are dedicated to what they love and not trying to make waves. When this is taken too far, it can make them extremely resistant to change of any kind. This over-fixation with maintaining stability at all costs taken too far can result in inflexibility that leads to bossiness and belligerence.

Marainey

Gertrude "Ma" Rainey, born April 26, 1886 was an American blues singer and influential early blues recording artist. Dubbed the "Mother of the Blues", she bridged earlier vaudeville and the authentic expression of southern blues, influencing a generation of blues singers.

When Taurean energy becomes distorted, it can manifest in certainty as a defence mechanism, controlling behavior and stubbornness to the point of chauvinism. As Taurus Sun’s mission is to stabilize, sometimes the idea of taking risks can feel overwhelming and chaotic. Taurus Suns must therefore make it a priority to learn how to balance consistency with risk-taking to allow themselves growth.

Charlotte Bronte

Born April 21, 1816, Charlotte Brontë was an English novelist (Jane Eyre) and poet, the eldest of the three Brontë sisters who survived into adulthood and whose novels became classics of English literature.

Taureans have their own highly developed sense of propriety, and when they come up against authority, they tend to challenge anyone or anything that they perceive as being in the wrong or for just wasting their time over pointless mundanities. If they can find logic in rules and systems, they’re fine. If rules are there for the sake of being rules (or seen as purposefully limiting them without any clear logic), they often find themselves with a problem.

Hedonists at heart, a distorted Taurus can sometimes take their pleasure-seeking too far, which can come back to bite them in the ass. Fond of their routines, they can slip into lethargy and fall into procrastination.

Harperlee

Born April 28, 1926, Nelle Harper Lee was an American novelist best known for her 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird. It won the 1961 Pulitzer Prize and has become a classic of modern American literature.

Our celestial bulls should be applauded for their honesty, yet be reminded to be conscious of coming across rude or hurtful. Honesty is admirable and not only that, it’s in the nature of a Taurus. This isn’t a trait to be fought, it’s just a good idea to practice gathering thoughts first in order to respond with more thoughtful, sensitive responses.

Taureans need to be careful of burnout. They should embrace their skills at focusing and abilities to get things done, but allow themselves to ask for help, take breaks, and avoid sacrificing their comfort. If procrastination is more the problem, creating a list of tasks to motivate themselves to get over those hurdles works wonders.

Lizzo

Born April 27, 1988, Melissa Viviane Jefferson, known professionally as Lizzo, is an American singer, rapper and songwriter.

Bulls should embrace their stubbornness when it comes to matters of having to make difficult choices, face opposing opinions, and being easily persuaded by charlatans. When in doubt, ask for receipts. Bulls should have no difficulty not doing something because someone else told them to! But, avoid letting stubbornness become a malignant quality that resists change, adaptation and openness to new and different things.

Despite their obstinate nature at times, Taureans are the most loyal, dependable partners out there. They are there at a snap for friends, family and lovers. Trustworthy and devoted, to have a Taurus in your corner is a great gift. Their mental tenacity and hardworking nature make them a force of nature, and these cosmic bulls know that if you mess with them or those they love, you’ll get the horns.
